Default POLL: Is Deadly Arts more useful now?

Vote "Yes" or "No."

Personally I'm still having an incredibly hard time using it and still hoping to stay alive for even a few seconds. Hence at the moment, I'm sticking with Shadow Arts *again*

I still find Deadly arts next to useless, they really need to buff it out if they want anyone to use it.

No. Deadly arts do not override the usefulness, even with the extra layer of cuteness, of dagger/crits. . . And you know how hungry those combos get.

It'll take some seriously energy management skill to be able to make Deadly Arts any useful at all, and of course, that would probably come from the Deadly Arts sin's secondary, mesmer maybe?

Still, with the release of the new Deadly Arts skills, i can see some potential in Deadly Arts. Just as long as they don't give too much of a bad nerf.

Deadly arts has always been useful. Siphon speed can act as a fast rechanging anti kiter hex, Scorpion wire is also an good anti kiter skill with an added Knock down. Way of the empty palm can go great with exposes defences and repeated strike for fast, cheap, never miss damage. Expunge enchantments, being a skill (rather than a spell) is an effective way to combat monks. Impale can add a good amount of damage to a duel attack.

There you have it, some rather good uses for Deadly arts.

I'm not saying that there aren't some good skills in the line, I'm asking if it is PRACTICAL. (As in, provides decent damage, energy management, and survivability)

I'll be sure to check out the above builds. Thanks for posting them!

I think most people find deadly arts less useful than shadow arts is because the fact that the shadow line offers more direct survival skills like dark escape, return, srefuge, etc as opposed to the hexes in deadly.

While I would like to try some deadly arts skills, my attributes would spread too thin into critical, dagger, deadly and shadow (for that needed survival).

No!

Why?Because there is no weapon for deadly arts, and the self-healing skills are only in Shadow Arts.

So, you must use your attribute points on Dagger Mastery and Critical Strike attributes. Then, you need self-healing skill and some teleport skill, it means you also have to spend your points on Shadow Arts.

As you see, you already spent your points on three attribute. It is hard to invest the 4th attribute which is deadly arts.

Deadly Arts sucks. Its only decent skill is Siphon Speed (maybe A-Promise), other than that you need too many slots for a combo.

Eh, I don't use it very much, I stick to a high dagger mastery/shadow arts and medium critical strikes in my attributes.

Would be nice to pop Signet of Shadows and Signet of Toxic Shock into the same build That would do awesome damage.

Deadly Arts will be a fairly attractive attribute with Nightfall. The buffs to Siphon Speed alone already make it a lot better than it previously was.

I normally use a build of quick rechargin combo with way of the empty palm, whcih means skills cost nothing( offhand and dual) and i can keep using

I never use deadly arts and find it a waste of slots when I use daggers. I personally think that the Critical Barrage build ive started using does much more damage.

I dont use dark arts, i could see them used by necros and mesmer mains but as a sin primary you get critical strikes and all the amazing skills that it comes with.

Not for assassins, maybe for /assassin players though (in the way that Expunge Enchantments is used).
